Tools:
- PFDAVAdmin: to connect to the exchange for changing the permissions clients, Replication and more. Work on exchange 2003
- ExFolder: do the same for Exchange 2007,2010 http://msexchangeteam.com/files/12/attachments/entry456255.aspx
- Modify Items: to modify the USN and check if the users got access to all items, I mean the administrator, and if ou made any changes you need to run the tools again.
Procedure:
- Backup of the PF and pst to the most important folder if they are a few.
- Check the user has a permissions on all of the Public Folders that will be replicated
- Check the retention period has been set before you start the replication.
- Make sure the schedule for replication is set to Always run.
To remove the replica
During migration, a public folder after you left the replication for some some time and sometimes it takes days depend on the number of PF, number of items in the folder and the size. You tried all the possible ways, from restarting the services to re-push the contents and check the number of items in each one and if you are satisfy that number of items are the same then do the following.
- Move the folder hierarchy to the new exchange
- Use adsiedit to remove the public folder
